WHAT IS IT?
Acne is a common skin problem of people in their teens and twenties. It develops in the oil-producing structures of the skin called pilosebaceous follicles, which are present in large quantities on the face, chest, shoulders and upper back.
WHAT CAUSES IT?
Each follicle consists of a hair follicle and a sebeceous gland. The glands secrete an oily mixture called sebum, which normally passes through the hair follicle to the skin surface. Acne occurs when the normal route of sebum to the skin surface is blocked by dead skin cells, bacteria, hormones and extra oil. The obstruction leads to swelling and the development of blackheads, whiteheads, or tender red lumps. Emotional stress, fatigue, humidity and cosmetics may aggravate acne.
IS IT CONTAGIOUS?
No. However, there is a tendency for acne to run in families.
HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
The blemishes will be present until the follicles are clear and free of the materials blocking them. Some individuals have a short course of acne while others live with the problem for a number of years.
HOW IS IT TREATED?
Treatment for the problem consists of two important parts: (1) what you can do, and (2) what your health care provider can do.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
In general it is best to try the following:
Keep hands off the fact and avoid squeezing the pimples, as this can spread infection and cause permanent scarring.
Avoid the use of oily cosmetics, moisturizers, and creams. If you wear makeup, look for those with a water base. Remove makeup at night.
Eat a balanced diet.
Washing the skin once or twice a day is usually sufficient to remove surface oil, dead skin and dirt, and to keep the skin moderately dry. Do not scrub the skin. There are a variety of soaps that may achieve a moderately dry condition better than others - ask your health care provider for recommendations.
While being treated with medication, recognize that acne may get worse before it gets better. It takes at least one month of therapy to evaluate its effectiveness.
WHAT CAN ASIANWHITESKIN DO ABOUT YOUR ACNE?
Acne is treated by trying to control the growth of bacteria and slow down the activity of the oil glands in the skin. Your health care provider may prescribe one or more of the following treatments:

(2) Asianwhiteskin Pure Kojic Acid - Kojic Soap, Kojic Lotion and Kojic Cream
Kojic acid is a natural, effective lightener (derived from rice) that helps fade spots by retarding excessive melanin production.
Kojic acid is extracted from mould grown on rice (Aspergillus oryzae) or that grown on soybean (Aspergillus sojae) and is used as a starter medium for the production of fermented food. Kojic acid is produced biologically by fermentation of bacteria on carbohydrates. The name is Japanese and comes from the word "koji" meaning "culture".
Skin color is determined by the quantity of melanin in the skin. Melanin is biosynthesized in the melanosome of the melanocyte - a process involving the presence of the enzyme tyrosinase. Kojic acid is known to inhibit tyrosinase thereby reducing the production of melanin.
Kojic acid is primarily used in cosmetics for it's skin lightening effect. It acts as an inhibitor of tyrosinase, which is responsible for the formation of melanin - the skin coloring agent in skin. Kojic acid also reduces existing melanin in the skin thereby assisting in the depigmentation of the skin. Kojic acid successfully reduces age spots and pigmentation on face and body, typically caused by sun damage. Kojic acid is also known to have an anti-microbial effect.
Kojic acid is a skin lightener produced from a fungus. Kojic acid works by blocking the formation of pigment by the deep cells on the skin. (3) Asianwhiteskin Pure Licorice- Licorice Soap, Licorice Lotion and Licorice Cream
Licorice is a plant native to parts of Europe and China. Its root extract has been used for hundreds of years, as tea and as flavoring. Glabridin was identified as a powerful skin whitening ingredient, glabrene as an anti-oxidant as strong as natural Vitamin E, and licochalcone as highly effective anti-acne ingredient which controls sebum production and wipes away bacteria.
